“Here go all of your prescriptions. All the instructions for taking care of your wounds, and when to come back is listed in your discharge papers. Make sure you follow up in the next 7-10 days,” the nurse handed me all of the necessary paperwork to discharge me. It was ten am, and I was up dressed and ready to go. Since I still had yet to hear from Cash, I called Ru last night to pick me up. I wanted to be petty so bad and call Rico to get me, but I decided against it, not wanting to add more drama, but Cash was really pushing it.
I zipped up my purse and sat in the wheelchair waiting for Ru to get here, when Cash’s dumb ass strolled in, “You ready to roll sweetness?”
He was the last person I expected to see, but I couldn’t deny how sexy he was looking keeping it straight up gutta in his white thermal, forest green robin jeans, and crispy Timberland boots. His hair was finally lined up, and he wasn’t looking all scruffy like he had the last time I seen him.
“What the hell are you doing here Cash?”
“I came to take your ass home. What else would I be doing here?” he said, with a cocky grin.
Deciding not to feed into his shit, I didn’t say anything, I just sat my overnight bag on my lap and kicked my feet up. Cash wheeled me out the hospital to the entrance where he had his car parked. After carefully placing me in the seat, he loaded up the back with bags, and we pulled off. The entire ride home was silent, but it was refreshing. The air felt so good blowing through my curly hair, and I was beginning to feel like my old self again. My stitches were still sore, but I was alive, so I was humble as hell, and I was definitely happy that Cash showed up to pick me up.
When we pulled up to our home, I couldn’t shake the images of the day I had been kidnapped out my head. I froze up for a minute, rethinking how scared I was when I had woken up in that basement, “We here,” Cash said.
I snapped out my daze and put a forced smile on my face. My aunt Nya’s car was in the driveway, too, and I was guessing she had the kids since Bree and Prince were house shopping today. Cash grabbed my bags and helped me into the house. To my surprise, all three of my rugrats were standing right there holding a “Welcome Home” banner for me. There they stood, the three of them, all smiles. It was the smallest things that brightened my day.
“I missed you so much, Mommy!” Cam said, jumping up on me.
I winced in pain that quickly. I had forgotten I had been shot the fuck up like 50
“Ahh!”
“Cam, remember what we talked about? Your mom still recovering,” Cash said, very stern.
